March 28, Today’s thought -God Lays My Foundation

Good Morning

Isaiah 54:10-13
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed;
but my kindness shall not depart from thee,
neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed,
saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours,
and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
And I will make thy windows of agates,
and thy gates of carbuncles,
and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD;
and great shall be the peace of thy children.

“Is there o end to trials?
Is there no limit to affliction?” you ask.
“Can there be assurance that God knows our every care,
our every weakness?
Will not the morning break with new hope
and refreshing courage?”
Yes, dear heart, there is hope,
there is a limit.
did not our Lord Himself promise us
that we would not have to suffer
affliction beyond that which He had to endure?
God sends affliction and He removes it.
Quietly wait
and patiently endure the will of the Lord till He comes.
When His design in using the rod is fully served,
He ends the trials and He limits the affliction.
If the affliction is for a time of testing,
that we might become as pure gold,
that we might glorify God,
it will end when the Lord has used us
to bear witness to His grace and goodness.
When we have given to Him all the honor
which we can possibly render to Him,
then we would wish the affliction to depart. M. Taylor

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said—
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
. . .Today
With my prayers, desiring yours, Leslie
